In our busied go-go-go-culture we
rarely take the time to self-reflect, to question what we really want out of
life—we chase
shadows, but we hardly find ourselves in the hasty, half-hearted process of
passively longing for more; all the while, never analyzing how to get there.
Therefore, I advise you to use this mythogem as a point of meditation to quiet
your psyche/soul, so that you can find your center or immovable spot (the point at which you align yourself with your
destiny, your personal myth).
Do you look at life as a straight line
or a circle, a recursive line or a spiral? Or, in other words, what is the difference
between thinking in terms of beginnings and endings, and beginnings and new
beginnings? The following questions will help initiate you with your journey to
self-discovery. To ultimately know where you are going, you need to first look
at where you’ve been—what has
brought you to this moment, and why? (As a sidenote, don’t just think about the
following questions literally, but figuratively too.)
So,
Where
Are
You
Now?
At this point, how would you describe
your life in one sentence?
Where are you currently living? Do you
like it here, why or why not?
Where do you want to be? In your
career? In your life? Geographically? Artistically? Mentally? Emotionally?
Spiritually?
What are you doing? Are you doing what
you love?
What
Do
You
Want (Out of Life—Goals)?
What
Are
Your
Expectations?
In broad strokes, how do you think
your life will unfold?
Name five things that will happen to
you this year?
Do you like your expectations?
Do you consider yourself lucky or
charmed? Why?
Do you see yourself as average or born
for greatness? What makes you think that? Inevitably, how can you push yourself
further?
